Charted Waters (“we”, “us”) provides maritime training, audits, vessel inspections, consultancy and software to shipowners, ship managers and maritime professionals. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have.

What we collect
- Information you give us. When you complete an enquiry form we collect your name, email address, subject and message, together with any other details you choose to include.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit.

Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run this website and our business, and only so far as they need it. These currently include our hosting provider and Google Analytics. Some of these providers process data outside India and the UAE; where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
We may also disclose data where required by law or by a regulator.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to keep a record of our dealings with you, and then deleted. Technical and analytics data is retained for a limited period in line with the settings of the tools we use.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email info@charted-waters.com. If you are in the EU or UK and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

We operate an ABS-certified ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
